The Dynamic Creative tool tries to optimize ad creatives combinations by using multiple ad components (images, videos, titles, descriptions and CTAs) and automatically generates combinations of these assets across audiences.

Facebook's delivery system then optimizes for creative components that deliver efficient results for each impression served. Dynamic creative ads will always aim to deliver the most high-performing creative combinations to your audience.

Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) is a great tool if you have a lot of assets, and you want to experiment with your audiences! However, it is not a substitute for split testing.

How can I use DCO on Paragone?

Similarly to how you can activate Reach and Frequency Campaigns, you'll now see on the objective page a toggle in the top bar:

Once you've chosen your objective with the Dynamic Creative toggle turned on, you'll get to the audience step as usual. Where it changes it in the Creatives page:

Same as a normal flow, you'll see an option to add components one by one.

Whenever you're adding an option, it will increment the counter under the creative you're building, giving you an idea of how many combinations are available.

All of these will the be used and combined by Facebook to present the best potential option to your audiences.

Once you've created your Dynamic Creative, it will appear in your timeline below, with the number of combination you've built:

Some things you need to know:

  • The only format available is "Link Ads"

  • The actual Link is not going to be something you can change.

  • For every component of the creative (Message, Link Description, etc...), you can add up to 5 options for your ad.

  • If you decide to "Edit Creative" after your campaign has been created, you will only be creating a new one, as there is no option to change multiple components at the same time.

  • There can only be one ad per ad set.

  • If you want to delete or archive an ad using DCO, you'll need to delete (or archive) the corresponding ad set.
